Villa Mata Air is a modern 5 bedroom property nestled on the bend of the River Pangi at Pererenan-Canggu, 25 minutes north of Seminyak. It is also a 5 minutes drive from the well known surfer’s challenge, Echo Beach. Villa Mata Air is fully fitted for a luxe breakaway on a tropical island; it combines Balinese open style with Western contemporary living. The single storey classy wood shingle-roof property expands from the narrow entrance of the Angkul-Angkul, a traditonal Balinese door to the Central Bale, the lounging and dining pavilion, complemented by a fully equipped kitchen. This steps down to a flat lawn flanked by pavilions on either side; 2 twin bed luxury suites and 2 master luxury suites. One master suite includes a fully equipped multi-media room and a secret garden set in the back for alone time… whilst the other includes a covered terrace with a massage table for a pampering time. When you rent Villa Mata Air, the loveliest surprise is a further 5th bedroom pavilion Studio hidden from sight along the curve of the Pangi River, comprising of a twin or double bedroom set up with ensuite bathroom, flat screen TV. This riverside bedroom can be converted into an air-conditioned living room with TV if the villa is rented as a 4 bedroom villa. Standing on the lawn, the view falls away from the infinity pool to the flowing river and then to the rice fields and blue skies beyond. There is ample decking as well as a must-have traditional bale, for that essential lazy afternoon lounging for two... The natural flora on the grounds have been kept and maintained as much as possible hence giving way to unsuspecting shade and mini gardens around the property. Mata Air means spring water and hence there are many ponds and water features built into the landscape. As with most of the things to do on Nusa Penida, you'll need to pay the 10,000 rupiah fee to park your bike. You'll see a sign an obvious route down to Peguyangan Waterfall down that iconic blue stairway. This stairway is quite steep but shouldn't be much of a problem for most. It took us roughly 15 minutes to reach the bottom, snapping some photos along the way. Related Diamond Beach If you were expecting a towering waterfall like those found in neighboring Bali, you might be a little disappointed. The Peguyangan Waterfall is definitely not that. However, Peguyangan Waterfall, which locals refer to as Mata Air Peguyangan, is actually not considered a "waterfall", but a sacred spring. You'll notice a shrine at the base, with a large pipe redirecting the flow of water down the steep cliff face. If you're lucky, you might get to meet some locals who've made the pilgrimage down to the site. You'll find this further on past the shrine. This pool is man-made and rests under an overhanging rock face. It's a great place to relax and cool off. On days with big swell, you can witness huge waves break and crash over the back of the pool. We relaxed in the pool for a good hour, monkeying around with a few local kids who seemed to enjoy playing with my camera. The hardest part of the day wasn't the climb back up, but trying to keep my DSLR dry! Where to Stay in Nusa Penida Nusa Penida isn't a huge island, but there are several options to pick from when choosing where to stay. Luxury Adiwana Warnakali Resort - This isn't the most expensive luxury resort on Nusa Penida but it's definitely one of the best! This resort is waterfront located with large, luxury suites and an incredibly included breakfast. In February 2016, my first visit to Guyangan Waterfall left me awe-struck as I made my way down the impressive cliffside stairs. The wooden steps and bars demanded faith in their strength, and I even joked in a picture caption that "a misstep and you're dead". Today, the staircase has undergone a transformation, and the brand new structure offers much easier access, while still providing the same breathtaking views. At the base of the stairs, a natural pool built into the cliff offers an unforgettable reward for the journey down. Truly an awesome experience!Guyangan Waterfall but where is the waterfall ?Guyangan Waterfall, also known as Peguyangan Waterfall on Google Maps, is a stunning destination in Nusa Penida. However, you should not expect a traditional waterfall cascading down the cliff. You will only see a small waterfall coming from the overflow pipe of a water tank, which is used to pump the spring water distributed throughout the island. Guyangan Waterfall is easily accessible, situated a mere 45-minute drive from Crystal Bay or top of the stairsA giddy descent to Guyangan WaterfallGuyangan Waterfall is an awesome place and holds its success of three factors. First the blue staircase that goes down along the cliff and allows beautiful pictures. Then, the breathtaking view of the cliffs of Nusa Penida island. And finally, down the stairs and after crossing a small temple, a natural pool sculpted into the rock of the cliff. You can cool off after a descent that could be described as dizzying. Titik ini juga berada tepat di depan Manta Point yang menjadi lokasi diving dan snorkeling terbaik bertemu pari manta. Gerbang besar yang berdiri di atas tebing menjadi titik awal menuju pusat sumber air. Jalur yang dilewati sengaja dibuat berkelok-kelok untuk mengurangi sudut kemiringan sehingga panjang rute mencapai 1 kilometer dengan durasi perjalanan 30 menit. Selama di perjalanan, Anda akan dimanjakan dengan pemandangan hamparan tebing batu kapur yang berdiri kokoh di sisi samudera. Bagian tangga terbawah setelah tikungan terakhir merupakan tantangan terberat. Posisi Anda benar-benar menggantung vertikal di atas laut dengan hanya satu satu sisi tangga yang menempel ke tebing. Sebagian besar jalannya sama dengan jalan menuju Tembeling. Hanya 10 menit perjalanan untuk pergi dari satu tempat ke tempat Toyapakeh, ambil arah Crystal Bay tetapi belok kiri ke arah Pantai Kelingking di persimpangan besar pertama dengan pura kecil di tengahnya. Setelah beberapa kilometer ambil belokan kanan kedua bukan yang pertama menuju Broken Beach, jalanannya lebih buruk. Ini adalah 40 menit berkendara. Jika tersesat bisa bertanya ke warga sekitar tapi mereka menyebutnya Air Terjun Sebuluh.
